Ellen Burchenal is an artist who makes drawings, paintings and small objects.
Formerly an instructor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, she was director of the MICA Italy Travel Intensive Program in Southern Italy and Core Faculty for the MICA/ SACI Program in Florence, Italy. Burchenal received her BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and her MFA from The Mount Royal School of Art at MICA. The recipient of several Maryland State Arts Council Fellowships, an AIA Honors Award, and an NEA Artist Residency, Burchenal has exhibited and lectured in galleries and universities throughout the region, in Japan and in Italy. She lives in Baltimore.
